AMAZON INDIA FASHION WEEK AUTUMN WINTER 2018
I can’t believe Amazon India Fashion Week is already over. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know it has been a very busy week for me with back to back shoots and modeling assignments but when my good friend and designer, Rahul Singh invited me to witness his Autumn Winter 2018 collection at Amazon India Fashion Week and Bipasha Basu gracing the ramp, I had to make sure not to miss it.
As I was coming to the show from work and would be heading back to sourcing post the show without having the luxury of changing, I needed an outfit that wouldn’t obstruct movement, require constant adjustments or weigh me down in this seething heat. Something simple, practical yet stylish.
I chose an H&M Tropical Printed Jumpsuit from their Conscious range. The fabric is breathable and the tropical prints reflects my personal weather and lifestyle preference of the Sun, sand and palm trees. Something I can hardly get enough of.
Co incidentally the only heels that I was carrying with me to Delhi this time were my Zara pumps that matched perfectly to the jumpsuit. I will give it to Zara- they do the best pointed toes amongst all the fast fashion brands at their price point in terms of form. I accessorized the look with my staple Michael Kors Norie gold watch, stacked rings from Gorjana and statement baroque earrings from Claire’s.
It is 32 degrees in Delhi right now but feels like 45. I am not complaining. I love the Sun and I live for summers. The smart way to go about your make up in near tropical weather is to keep it light. And I did just that. A good base sets the tone for the entire look and I focused on a creating even looking skin with my Benefit POREfessional primer, MAC Studio Fix Foundation and LA Girl Pro Concealer. I skipped the entire contouring, highlighting and baking routine as the more make up you have in this weather, the more chances of it melting and reacting in the Sun. I set the base with my Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder and turned to my eyes next. A simple cat eye with my Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner over a champagne shade eye shadow to keep it simple and classy.
Give the woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world, and this was just fashion week. I realized the last time I wore red lipstick was in 2016 for the New Year’s Eve party in Goa. I wonder why I stopped wearing red lipstick, when in fact, it was my holy grail since time immemorial. I gave my red lipstick an outing and completed the look with my two favorite reds- the NARS and MAC Ruby Woo.
And in 20 minutes, I was front row ready.
Check out Rahul Singh’s gorgeous Collection.
