Fashion week for stylists and designers equals to insanity. Attending multiple shows in a day, running from one venue to another in towering heels, meetings, after parties- it is one crazy week. A week of hard work calls for a week of relaxation. A week of doing nothing but just relaxing. A week in Goa. So I opened my laptop and booked a week at my most preferred, tried and tested accommodation- Doubletree by Hilton, Goa.
My pool facing room was quite compact compared to other rooms in the category but it lent a cozy feel to it. In the center of my room stood a king size bed with a comfortable backlit headrest, a set of lounging sofa with a coffee table with fruits. The television faced the bed and underneath was an attached table extending into a study unit. The bathroom surprisingly was smaller than I expected, with a rain shower and heavenly fragrant amenities from Crabtree & Evelyn.
After a lazy afternoon in my comfortable bed, I decided to head out in the evening. On the way out I chanced about the beautiful water wall extending from the topmost floor to the lobby highlighted due to ambient light reflecting off water. Right behind the wall was also a snooker table which I had missed in the rush to get to my room. The hotel was an independent property taken over and revamped by Doubletree. A 41 km drive from the airport, Doubletree by Hilton, Goa (Arpora) is just 2 kms away from Baga beach with shuttles from the hotel to the beach. I arrived in the afternoon and after clearing the initial formalities and being offered the Doubletree cookie, I was ushered straight to my King Guestroom Pool View.
The next morning, I headed to the pool for a swim. The pool was located in the left wing of the hotel surrounded by rooms and looking out to the poolside bar. After a relaxing swim I ordered for Penne Arrabiata pasta and Heineken while waiting to dry off.The food lived upto my expectations and so did the service. The next few days were also spent lounging and exploring North Goa.
Overall, it was a good stay at the property with full points for service. For anyone looking for good hotels in North Goa, I would definitely recommend Doubletree by Hilton, Goa (Arpora) for the reasonable room rates, warm staff and great service.
