The past week I haven’t been quite active on social media as I celebrated my birthday this year with a luxurious, pampering and offline staycation at the Bangalore’s best 5 Star destination, the Sheraton Grand Hotel Bangalore at Brigade Gateway .
Birthdays for me, have been private affairs. I prefer to be spend time with my family and people closest to me on the day and reserve the partying and celebratory events to pre or post the day. This year, I had work lined up for immediately post my birthday for which I had to fly out to Bangalore the day before my Birthday.
Although away from home, I had a delightful staycation at Sheraton Grand Bangalore in the company of the most treasured people in my life. I chose to spend my Birthday and Birthday evening at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway due to the central location and my wonderful previous experiences at the hotel. The hotel is located in Brigade Gateway, an upscale lifestyle enclave, housing the World Trade Center, one of the city’s largest shopping malls, Orion and High Ultra Lounge which boasts of beautiful view to the city’s gleaming sunsets and an impressive nightlife.
My first visit to the hotel was within the first month that I moved to Bangalore 3 years ago, to grab a quick bite at the Lobby Lounge before a work meeting. After which I have frequented the hotel for the Bangalore Fashion Week, shooting and styling weddings, attending weddings and of course tranquil staycations.
I went straight from the airport to the hotel late in the evening. After a swift check in I was welcomed into the spacious, warm and contemporary PREMIER LAKE VIEW ROOM. Decorated with luxurious furnishing and rich fabric, wooden hue walls, the room created a perfect setting for a relaxed birthday weekend for me.
The Premier Lake View room had a floor to ceiling window which overlooked the towering evergreen trees, the acre wide lake and the hotel’s enchantingly lit Persian al-fresco restaurant, Persian Terrace. Despite being right in the middle of a lively enclave, the Sheraton Grand Hotel at Brigade Gateway offers complete privacy. That evening I decided to opt for the in room dining and sit back and enjoy the Fifa World Cup quarter finals from my cozy bed which was soon interjected at midnight by phone calls from family and wishing me on the occasion.
The next day, I woke up to a beautiful morning kick started with a magnificent view of the Brigade gateway enclave and a delicious breakfast. I savored the breakfast to the so much that I had to skip lunch because of overeating. Then came the highlight of the day, something that I had been waiting to do since the previous evening. I rushed downstairs on the 4thfloor to catch some Sun rays and lounge by the poolside. Other than the room, my favorite corner of a hotel is the poolside. The swimming pool, poolside bar, and poolside dining spaces are my preferred locations to unwind. And the one at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway did not disappoint. Towering around pool were the World Trade Center and Orion mall with the biggest possible board of Zara facing me, I was in a happy place. The rest of the day was spent relaxing in the bath tub with a glass of champagne, strolling around Brigade Gateway and shopping at Orion at an easy pace unlike a regular day in my life.
In the evening I was quite excited to try on the mouth watering offerings at the restaurants. The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway has a multitude of dining options, from the Persian Terrace with its Arabian vibe, Alfresco by Bene to Feast, the hotel’s all day diner with a myriad of cuisines. I decided to try out the Italian restaurant which has been named the best in the country, BENE. Reminiscent of modern Italian diner, Bene truly does boast of great Italian cuisine. I had the Braciola alla Barese, slowly cooked aromatic tenderloin, cooked to perfection in red wine tomato sauce served with green peas and crushed potato. Benne lived up to the hype and truly was one of the best Italian meals that I have had. I ended the evening with my feet dipped in the warm water of the pool flanked by the bustling city on side while nestled in hub of comfortable luxury.
My birthday staycation at The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gatewaywas great from start to finish. The staff were fantastic, the food was beyond incredible, the rooms, the ambience, the service and the hospitality. It was all spot on and I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone who is looking for a great hotel or a laid back staycation close to amenities in Bangalore.
